Job description

Interact provides enterprise-grade intranet software that connects over three million employees to leading global names like Levi's, Domino’s, Teva Pharmaceuticals, and Technicolor.

Our team of customer‑focused problem solvers are passionate about helping organizations to communicate better. We do this together by constantly working to improve every service and product we offer. With offices in Manchester, New York, Dubai, Warsaw, and Poland, we operate across North America, EMEA, and Australia.

Click on any of our vacancies and you’ll see one thing in common – they all begin with this message. Why? Because at Interact we treat everyone with the same respect and honesty. Whether you’re a developer fresh out of college or a seasoned salesperson, we live the motto that we uphold for our customers: our people are our most valuable assets.

This is a hands‑on engineering role, not a monitoring role. You will design, build, and automate the security capabilities that protect our platform and customers – owning tooling and detection end to end rather than operating what someone else configured. You’ll take our Splunk estate, cloud security controls, and incident response capability from where they are today to where they need to be, treating security as a software and engineering problem: codified, tested, automated, and measurable.

We're looking for a genuine engineer. If your background is running dashboards and triaging alerts in a large team where the hard problems were solved by someone else, this isn't the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity strategies to protect organisational assets against cyber threats
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security gaps and mitigate risks effectively
  • Contribute to a robust security architecture, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption mechanisms, to safeguard network infrastructure and data
  • Monitor security infrastructure for suspicious activities, investigate incidents, and implement incident response procedures to minimize impact and ensure timely resolution
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security controls into the development lifecycle of applications, systems, and networks
  • Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to continuously enhance security posture and mitigate potential risks
  • Participate in security audits, compliance assessments, and regulatory reviews to ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulations
  • Maintain documentation of security processes, procedures, and incident response plans to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuity of operations
  • Help to identify opportunities for automation and optimization of security operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Experience in cyber security roles, with an understanding of networking protocols, security technologies, and risk management principles
  • Experience with security incident response, including handling and mitigating security incidents
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop practical solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Continuous learner with a proactive approach to professional development and staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Knowledge of security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, SOAR, DLP, endpoint protection, and vulnerability assessment tools
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of networking, security technologies, operating systems, and programming. Able to use security tools to identify, prevent, and respond to cyber threats.
  • Analytical Thinking: Able to assess complex systems, identify vulnerabilities, evaluate risks, and recommend effective security solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Capable of investigating security incidents, troubleshooting issues, and developing solutions to emerging cyber threats.
  • Attention to Detail: Thorough in reviewing logs, alerts, and system configurations to spot potential security risks and weaknesses.
  • Continuous Learning: Committed to staying up to date with evolving cyber threats, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Communication Skills: Able to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and communicate security risks effectively.
  • Ethical Approach: Maintains confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism when handling sensitive information and critical systems.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Works effectively with colleagues across IT, cloud, development, and compliance teams to improve security.
  • Adaptability: Able to quickly learn new technologies and respond to changing threats and business needs.
