Are you passionate about cyber security and eager to start a career in a dynamic purpose-driven organisation? We're looking for a curious, proactive individual to join our IT team as a Cyber Security Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while working towards a recognised qualification.

The Role

As a Cyber Security Apprentice, you'll play a key role in supporting our cyber security operations. You'll help monitor alerts, triage incidents, assist with audits and compliance checks, and contribute to our awareness and training programmes. You'll work closely with our Cyber Security Analyst and wider IT teams, gaining exposure to a broad range of tools and processes.

This apprenticeship is designed as a launchpad for a career in cyber security. It's ideal for someone with a genuine interest in the field, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to staying up to date with emerging trends and technologies. Based at Plumpton Park, Harrogate (HG2 7LD), the apprenticeship programme runs for 20 months and offers structured support throughout your learning journey, helping you build the skills and experience needed to grow into a confident and capable cyber security professional.

About you

We're looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who's keen to build a career in cyber security and passionate about helping improve and educate others on security practices across the organisation.

  • A curious mindset and the confidence to ask thoughtful questions in a friendly and constructive way
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Initiative and a proactive approach to solving problems
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • A relevant Level 2 qualification (e.g. NVQ, BTEC) in Information Technology or Cyber Security
  • GCSEs in English, Mathematics, and a Science or Technology subject
  • The drive and commitment to complete all qualification requirements of the apprenticeship programme
