Job summary

Trinity House is seeking an enthusiastic IT Cyber Security Analyst to join our IT team on a 2-year fixed-term contract in Harwich. You will monitor cyber threats, maintain security controls and assist in incident response and cyber resilience activities.

Working with senior technical colleagues, you will strengthen our security posture through vulnerability management, security monitoring, and compliance with Cyber Essentials while supporting a range of enterprise technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security, infrastructure and IT support functions.
• Good understanding of cyber security principles, networking and best practice.
• Experience with vulnerability management and incident response.
• Familiarity with firewall technologies; Check Point preferred; endpoint protection Sophos; security monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, enterprise networking and OT environments advantageous.
• Relevant qualifications or certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, ITIL Foundation or equivalent are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to cyber threats and incidents.
• Manage vulnerabilities, security testing and remediation.
• Support Cyber Essentials, SIEM, MDR and Darktrace.
• Review firewalls, security controls and configurations.
• Support incident response and disaster recovery.
• Advise on secure systems, procurement and suppliers.
• Promote cyber security awareness and best practice.
• Participate in the out-of-hours support rota.
