Cyber Security Analyst

Are you someone who’s curious about cyber threats and passionate about protecting digital spaces?

This role could suit someone with a background in IT security, scripting, or data analysis – or someone ready to step up into a hands-on operational role in a fast-paced environment.

Experience using a WAF platform like Akamai is essential – you’ll be diving deep into traffic patterns and threat mitigation from day one.

A bit about the job

You’ll be joining our Web Application Firewall (WAF) team – part of Aviva’s Perimeter Security service.

We’re a close-knit group of cyber specialists who protect Aviva’s websites from malicious traffic and digital threats.

This is an operations-focused role where you’ll investigate internet traffic, analyse data, maintain services, and improve security controls. You’ll also be part of a 24/7 on-call rota, responding to incidents that matter – quickly and calmly.

Skills and experience we’re looking for
  • Experience with scripting, query languages, and automation.
  • Knowledge of IT Security principles (CIA triad, OWASP Top 10).
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal – with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
  • Analytical mindset with a knack for spotting patterns in webtraffic data.
  • Previous experience using a WAF platform like Akamai is essential.
