Job summary

Salt is seeking a Cyber Operations Analyst to join the team in London, Cheltenham or Ipswich. You will conduct network intrusion analysis, threat hunting and develop bespoke tooling to improve investigations and detection.

The role requires UKIC DV clearance, extensive hands-on cyber operations experience, data analysis of large-scale networks, and Python scripting to automate tasks. You will produce intelligence reports and collaborate with engineers and researchers on national security

Qualifications

• UKIC DV clearance is required or active
• Hands-on experience in cyber operations, threat hunting or network intrusion analysis
• Experience analyzing large-scale network data and identifying malicious activity
• Experience with Python scripting to build tooling and automation

Cyber Operations Analyst (Network Intrusion & Capability Development)

Location: London, Cheltenham, Ipswich (5 days per week) Salary: Up to £100,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct network intrusion analysis and investigations into sophisticated cyber activity.
• Analyse large-scale network and telecommunications datasets, including NetFlow and network telemetry.
• Develop bespoke cyber tooling, automation and analytical capabilities to improve investigations and detection.
• Produce intelligence reporting and technical assessments to support operational decision-making.
• Collaborate with cyber specialists, engineers and researchers to solve complex cyber security challenges.

Key Requirements

• Active UKIC DV Clearance.
• Extensive hands-on experience within cyber operations, threat hunting, cyber intelligence or network intrusion analysis.
• Experience analysing large-scale network data and identifying malicious activity.
• Software development or scripting experience (Python or similar) with a focus on tooling and automation.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly.
