Job summary

Experis UK is seeking an experienced Cyber Platform Engineer to join a high-performing Cyber Security Engineering team in Sheffield. You will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and Go, building production-grade systems across cloud platforms.

You will implement IaC with Terraform, build CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to reliability, security, and observability. A strong software development background and passion for scalable, secure platforms are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong software development background with production-grade systems.
• Proficient in Python and Go.
• Experience building APIs and microservices.
• Cloud experience with AWS or Azure.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Familiarity with automated testing (unit/integration/TDD/BDD).

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Cyber Platform Engineer to join a high-performing Cyber Security Engineering team, building the platforms, automation, and services that underpin critical cyber security capabilities.

This role is ideal for a software engineer first, with strong development experience and a passion for building production-grade systems. You'll work across backend engineering, cloud platforms, automation, and DevOps practices, developing scalable solutions that support cyber security and data engineering teams.

What You'll Be Doing

Software Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and engineering tools.
• Build production-quality software using Python.
• Apply engineering best practices including SOLID principles, design patterns, testing, and code reviews.
• Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable applications.
• Produce technical documentation and contribute to engineering standards.
• Deploy and support services within AWS or Azure environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
