Job description

Cadent Gas Ltd – Protecting critical infrastructure through cyber resilience.

As our Cyber Operational Technology Analyst, you’ll help safeguard the systems that keep Cadent’s gas network running securely and efficiently. You’ll work across departments to strengthen our OT environment, support the delivery of Cadent’s OT cyber strategy, lead assurance activities, and provide expert guidance to manage cyber risks in line with regulatory and industry standards. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and national agencies to ensure Cadent’s OT systems are secure, resilient, and aligned with best practice.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and manage cyber risks across IT and OT networks.
  • Lead third‑level assurance activities and support regulatory submissions.
  • Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to improve security posture.
  • Represent Cadent in forums and working groups, contributing to national cyber resilience.
  • Stay ahead of emerging threats and technologies to drive innovation.
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent experience in information security, operational technologies, or related discipline.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CISMP, CISA, CISM, GCIP, ICSP, SEC+/Net+, ISA62443).
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to the gas and wider energy sector.
  • Working knowledge of other common IS frameworks (ISO27001, Cyber Essentials, Cyber Assessment Framework) and how they apply to the energy sector.
  • Broad knowledge of OT, threats and risks and how to manage them within an operational context.
Practical Experience
  • Exposure to change projects and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to form and maintain working relationships.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
  • Self‑motivated and able to deliver objectives in support of projects as part of a wider strategy or team.
  • Experience of assurance methods and remediation.
