Job summary

A&O Shearman is seeking a Cyber Defence Analyst to join the Belfast Information Security team. The role involves investigating escalations, incident response activities, and collaboration across IT and security teams in a 24-7 support model.

Weekend work is required with premium pay on weekend hours, in addition to base salary. The successful candidate will have 1+ years in security operations and a solid understanding of networking and cyber defence tooling.

Qualifications

• At least 1+ years' experience in security operations or similar role.
• Operational experience in two or more domains: security engineering, alert triage, incident response, DFIR, threat intel, vulnerability management, or security testing.
• Solid understanding of networking and routing protocols (TCP/IP) and services (DNS, SMTP).

Responsibilities

• Investigate and prioritise Level 2 escalated events detected by MSSP and escalate when needed.
• Respond to inbound security queries and follow playbooks for cyber defence incidents.
• Participate in CSIRT activities during confirmed incidents and assist containment and remediation.
• Attend security incident response exercises and contribute to post-exercise reviews.
• Be on the Cyber Defence on-call rota and support 24-7 follow-the-sun model.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to improve controls and awareness.
