Job summary

Johnstons of Elgin in Hawick is seeking a Cutting Operative to join our growing team. This is a full-time permanent role, 38 hours per week on dayshift, with a starting rate of £13.45 per hour.

You will cut, mark and prepare garments and accessories, following cutting specifications and templates, ensuring accuracy and neat finishing. Training is provided and prior experience is valued.

Qualifications

• selecting bundles of work and checking the contents
• referring to precise cutting specification and select appropriate template and measurements for the item
• lay out the item on the table and mark any required areas for cutting as specified
• cutting out a shape as marked and ensuring it is centred.
• where required cut trimmings (e.g. pockets, straps)
• folding garments together with any trimmings and put aside

We are looking for Cutting Operatives to join our growing team in Hawick to cut, mark and prepare a wide variety of garments and accessories.

This is a full-time permanent position, working 38 hours a week on dayshift.

Rate of pay for this role is £13.45 per hour, dependant on experience.

Training will be provided, but if you have experience in this role or something similar, your expertise will be highly valued and welcomed.
