A leading customs support firm in the UK is seeking a Customs Processor to oversee the smooth processing of Declarations and conduct Month End checks. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and be proactive in learning new systems. You will input shipment details, validate products against provided data, and ensure compliance with HMRC rules. This role requires both teamwork and independent work capabilities.

  • Input shipment detail to create Declarations into customs system.
  • Cross-reference products against excel data, noting anomalies.
  • Process matched invoices and line detail into system.
  • Fix HMRC errors for entries.
  • Complete Month End checks for the HMRC Deadline.
  • Merge documents as outlined by the customer.
  • Upload merged documentation to customer SharePoint.
  • Input completed entry details into customer Log.

Overview

To oversee the smooth processing of Declarations for a givencustomer on a month-to-month basis.

The job also involves completing Month End checks to ensure all entries have been accounted for and adhering to HMRC rules.

A pivotal role that requires attention to detail andbeing able to work to a process while also giving consideration to how those processescan be improved. Experience in Excel & sharepoint is an advantage but ultimately the ability to expandon basic knowledge and learn new systems is more important. The role requires a strongteam ethic but also the ability to work proactively on your own.

Responsibilities
  • Input shipment detail to create Declarations into customs system
  • Cross-reference and match products from files against excel data providedby the customer, being particularly careful to note anomalies in pieces and value
  • process matched invoices and line detail into system
  • Fix any HMRC errors attributed to entries
  • Complete Month End checks ready for the HMRC Deadline
  • Work through completed entry folders and merge documents in the formatoutlined by the customer
  • Upload merged documentation to customer SharePoint under correct month
  • Input completed entry details into customer Log
