Job Description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-service focused Customs Operator specialising in Perishable Air-Imports to join their team.

The ideal candidate will manage the customs clearance process for perishable goods entering the country via Air and Road from the EU.

We need a Perishable Imports operator to cover the night shift 4-on, 4-off. This rewarding working pattern offers a good work-life balance and is well-established in our industry.

It is essential to have a can-do attitude, be available to assist during peak periods, and cover holidays for colleagues when possible. We value adaptable individuals who can support all areas of the business, including ETSF Warehouse inputs, Transport Operations, and sales. Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Border Force, Port Health, and APHA regulations for perishable imports, especially post-Brexit.
• Collaborate with Transport Operations to monitor shipments and manage the process efficiently.
• Conduct and control ETSF entries, ensuring Border Force compliance and facilitating import controls.
• Manage the entire APHA Applications and Customs Clearance process from start to finish.
• Communicate with Authorities, Airlines, Transport Operations, and Customers to keep all stakeholders informed.

Experience and Skills

• Proficiency in Port/Plant Health applications, Customs entries, ETSF protocol, and the new Border Procedures for EU Imports is advantageous.
• Experience with office software and customs-specific platforms such as Government Gateway, Descartes, ASM/Sequoia, IPAFFS, CNS, CCS, CDS, Destin8, etc.
• Excellent attention to detail, with clearly defined practices and accurate record-keeping.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: £30,000 - £38,000 per year
