Overview

We are working with a well-established supply chain specialist to recruit a Customs Clerk to work a 12 hour day shift, with a 4 on/off working pattern. The salary would be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
  • In this role, you will be reporting to the Assistant Customs Freight Manager and will be managing the movement of clearance of goods in and out of the UK.
  • Communicate with HMRC and other authorities to ensure goods are cleared and released.
  • Ensure HMRC rules and regulations are adhered to.
  • Liaise with customers (both internal and external) to ensure timely.
  • Ensure company values and strategies are followed.
  • Feed market information into the business to ensure we offer the most competitive service.
  • Work closely with the sales team to grow the customer share.
  • Support Customs Freight Manager in the development and growth of department.
  • Carry out adhoc functions as and when required and directed by the line manager.
  • Assist other departments as and when required by the business.
Required experience
  • 1-2 years HMRC entry processing / CDS experience.
  • Good HSS code knowledge / classification.
  • Basic understanding of PECH and DEFRA applications.
  • Good temperature controlled equipment knowledge.
  • Knowledge / experience importing / exporting produce.
  • Experience with Cargowise is a bonus.
