Job summary

British Airways is seeking a Customs Administrator to join our operations team, focusing on international trade compliance and logistics in a fast-paced environment.

You will submit customs declarations to HMRC, coordinate transport solutions, and contribute to audits and data reporting while upholding high standards and a compliance-first mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures timely submission of Customs declarations to HMRC, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory processes and procedures.
  • Providing Transport solutions to requests from internal customers.
  • Prioritisation, planning and organisation of both individual and team tasks as part of set objectives, ensuring that all reporting lines are adhered to and relevant departmental, team and individual objectives are fulfilled.
  • Ensures high-quality communication takes place with all stakeholders, suppliers and customers and that this takes place in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Expected to work collaboratively within the department and throughout the airline, its partners and suppliers.
  • Departmental report production and presentation.
  • Compilation of data and statistics, which may be from internal or external sources and transferring to local systems as required.
  • Input to and updating of company systems and processes.
  • Support B.A. Customs compliance monthly import and export audits

The role: Customs Administrator

The Customs Administrator is a key operational role that sits at the centre of international trade compliance and logistics. It requires a highly organised, detail-focused individual who can balance accuracy, compliance, and customer service in a fast-paced environment. The role is ideally suited to someone who takes ownership, demonstrates sound judgement, and has the confidence to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards. A successful Customs Administrator is proactive, resilient, and committed to ensuring the smooth flow of goods while safeguarding the business from regulatory and financial risk through strong attention to detail and a compliance-first mindset.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring To British Airways
  • Education to Level 2 (or educational equivalent) – Desirable
  • Alternatively, possesses equivalent experience – Desirable
  • Good knowledge of BA Engineering IT systems, including EWS/SAP – Desirable
  • Sound knowledge of material movements & logistics processes & procedures – Desirable
  • Knowledge of Customs processes and procedures (Essential)
