Job summary

Co-op in Harlow is hiring a Customer Team Member to deliver friendly, helpful service to the local community. You’ll join a small team, work a mix of opening, middle, and closing shifts, and help with tills, stock, and general store duties.

This part-time role includes training, potential involvement with the post office or bakery tasks, and opportunities to engage customers and promote Co-op membership.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly and thoughtful service on the shop floor and tills.
• Keep shelves stocked and check prices, dates and stock accuracy.
• Support daily operations and work as part of a team to ensure a great shopping experience.

Customer Team Member

Location: 1 Long House; Bush Fair Tye Green, Harlow, CM18 6NR

Pay: £13.04 per hour

Contract: 12 hours per week + regular overtime, permanent contract, part time

Working pattern: A mix of opening shifts, middle shifts, and closing shifts. At least 2 shifts will be closing and at least 1 will be at the weekend. We're happy to discuss your availability further at interview.

We're looking for Customer Team Members to join our team at Co-op, join us and play a key role in delivering friendly, helpful service in your local Co-op store.

As a Customer Team Member, you'll work as part of a friendly team in a fast-moving Co-op store, helping deliver essential services to your community every day. Depending on your store, this could involve working in our post office, or bakery, or helping with online services by picking and packing orders for home delivery. Whatever the day brings, you'll play a key role in making life easier for our customers.

You'll be a familiar face in the community, getting to know your customers and helping us stay connected with local and national charities. What you'll do:

• Support the day-to-day running of the store by delivering friendly and thoughtful service, helping to put things right when needed
• Work with your team to keep the store running smoothly
• Work hands-on on the shop floor and tills, and contribute to daily operations to create a great shopping experience
• Help maintain store performance by keeping shelves stocked and checking prices, dates, and stock accuracy
• Make sure the store safe and legal - keep the shelves stocked and make sure prices, dates, and temperatures are all as they should be
• Promote Co-op Membership and support your local community

What you'll bring:

• A genuine passion for helping people and delivering great customer service
• The ability to work flexibly across a number of shifts and as part of a team
• An interest in retail and working in a busy store environment (experience not essential)
