Job summary

Co-op is hiring Customer Team Members for a Ferryhill store. You’ll work as part of a friendly team delivering quick, friendly service on the shop floor and tills. Training is provided, with opportunities to support post office, bakery or online order tasks as needed.

Shifts are mainly 4pm–10:15pm on Tuesdays and Saturdays and 11:45am–5:45pm on Fridays, totaling 18 hours per week with regular overtime. Applicants must be 18+ and ready to contribute to a busy, community-focused store.

Qualifications

• Past experience in retail is not essential.
• Able to work evenings and weekends.
• A genuine passion for helping people.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful service to customers on the shop floor and tills.
• Assist with store operations and stock control to keep shelves well stocked.
• Support with post office, bakery or online order tasks where applicable.
• Help ensure prices, dates and stock accuracy are correct and prices are clearly displayed.

Pay: £13.04 per hour

Contract: 18 hours per week + regular overtime, permanent contract, part time

We're looking for Customer Team Members to join our team at Co-op, join us and play a key role in delivering friendly, helpful service in your local Co-op store.

As a Customer Team Member, you'll work as part of a friendly team in a fast-moving Co-op store, helping deliver essential services to your community every day. Depending on your store, this could involve working in our post office, or bakery, or helping with online services by picking and packing orders for home delivery. Whatever the day brings, you'll play a key role in making life easier for our customers.

What you’ll do:

• Support the day-to-day running of the store by delivering friendly and thoughtful service, helping to put things right when needed
• Work with your team to keep the store running smoothly
• Work hands-on on the shop floor and tills, and contribute to daily operations to create a great shopping experience
• Help maintain store performance by keeping shelves stocked and checking prices, dates, and stock accuracy
• Make sure the store safe and legal - keep the shelves stocked and make sure prices, dates, and temperatures are all as they should be
• Promote Co-op Membership and support your local community
