Customer Support Field Engineer

Working at customer sites within around 75 miles of Ossett + Head Office

  • Full time, permanent, Monday – Friday (8am-6pm, 37.5 hours per week)
  • £28,000 - £30,000 per annum + company vehicle

The Role

As a Customer Support Field Engineer, you'll play a vital role in delivering on-site support to a diverse customer base. You’ll respond to service calls, diagnose and resolve technical faults, carry out preventative maintenance, and ensure accurate record-keeping to support continuous service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to service calls on customer sites within SLA timeframes
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical and mechanical issues
  • Conduct thorough preventative maintenance and document all activity
  • Build in-depth technical knowledge of company products, solutions, and services
  • Maintain exceptional communication with internal teams and customers
  • Work with PC, server, printer, and network hardware/software
  • Update call systems and maintain accurate records
  • Adhere to ISO9001, ISO27001, and Information Security policies
  • Participate in the out-of-hours rota when required (enhanced pay)
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to support operational needs

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll be an organised, motivated engineer with a strong background in IT or technical field support. With excellent customer-facing skills, you’ll take pride in delivering first-class service, solving problems efficiently, and maintaining a disciplined, high-quality work ethic. About you :

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an engineering or IT field role
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities across hardware, software & networks
  • Printer repair knowledge, including mechanical print processes
  • Experience with HP, Sharp, Xerox, Kyocera, Canon, Oki, Zebra or similar
  • PC and server hardware experience
  • Printer driver and local / network connectivity experience
  • Vendor accreditations (e.g., Lenovo) - advantageous
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Flexibility, initiative, and a proactive approach to workload management
