Customer Support Engineer

Reed Engineering are working with an amazing company who are looking for someone to join their innovative team as a Customer Support Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in providing first-line technical support for our cutting-edge sonar products. This position is based in our Great Yarmouth office and offers a dynamic work environment with the opportunity for occasional global travel to support our extensive customer base.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide outstanding technical support to customers via telephone, email, and occasional customer visits.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues with support from the Engineering Team.
  • Conduct on-site demonstrations of our sonar products to support sales initiatives.
  • Perform installation, commissioning, and upgrades of products.
  • Report on opportunities for product improvements and ensure customer communications are responded to within an acceptable timeframe.
  • Promote improvements, upgrades, and aftersales opportunities to customers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technical education in a discipline relevant to sonar products.
  • Demonstrable hands‑on experience with sonar survey equipment, either in the field or at a base.
  • Ability to use a methodical and systematic approach, plan ahead, define clear priorities, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to address complex issues and make rational judgments.
  • Specialist knowledge and expertise in the field of sonar technology.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and precisely.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with a proven ability to cooperate well with others and share knowledge, experience, and support in pursuit of team goals.
