We have an exciting opportunity for a talented, experienced Simulator Engineer to join our Driver Academy Team.

Key Accountabilities

Responsibility for management of the F1 simulator customer sessions and running of these sessions, specifically during race event live support:

  • Scheduling and planning of the session
  • Operate the customer F1 simulator, including pre-event briefings, set‑up checks, shake‑downs and sessions themselves, to the company standards.
  • Sessions are expected to be for pre and post Friday Practice support during the F1 season, which would involve long hours and offset start/finish time to suit the event time zones.

Support the activities of the Driver Academy department, which can include, based on abilities:

  • Collaborate with the Academy Lead Simulator engineer
  • Training and mentoring of the department Industrial Student Placement to help with simulator operations.
  • Junior Series Simulator car models – Correlation, database maintenance and development
  • Develop analysis tools and metrics for Simulator driver coaching
  • Race results analysis and metrics creation to monitor and identify talent
Essential Competencies
  • Experience of McLaren Applied software
  • ATLAS (Data Viewer and Data Server)
  • SECU code knowledge
  • Knowledge of vTAG-PC would be advantageous
  • Programming languages, MATLAB, Python, VBA.
  • Knowledge of Race Car Electronics
  • Experience of racing simulator environment
