The role involves hands-on valeting and moving vehicles, with a requirement for a full clean UK driving licence. The position is ongoing temporary with the view to permanent.

Customer Service Operative & Vehicle Preparation | Southend-on-Sea | Full-time | £14.00 per hour

Our client is seeking an experienced Customer Service / Car Valeter to join their busy and fast‑paced team in Southend‑on‑Sea on an ongoing temporary basis, with the view to become permanent. This role suits someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and is confident handling vehicles throughout the day. To be considered for this role you must a have a full clean driver’s licence.

Role Overview

You’ll play a key part in ensuring vehicles are presented to a high standard while delivering friendly, professional customer service. The position involves a mix of hands‑on valeting, customer interaction, and vehicle movement around the site.

Main Duties

• Cleaning, washing, drying, and polishing the exterior of vehicles to a high standard
• Greeting customers, discussing hire services, and providing a professional, friendly experience
• Driving vans around the yard, delivering them to customers, and repositioning vehicles as needed
• Carrying out basic vehicle checks, identifying maintenance issues, and reporting any concerns promptly
• Supporting the wider team during busy periods to ensure smooth daily operations
• Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, including equipment and valeting areas

Key Requirements

• A clean UK driving licence is essential
• Strong background in customer service, ideally in a hands‑on or automotive environment
• Confident, reliable, and hard‑working, with a proactive approach to tasksComfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Good communication skills and a positive, customer‑focused attitude
