Job summary

A leading infrastructure and services provider in Hereford is seeking a Customer Service Call Handler to join their team. In this role, you will manage inbound calls, log concerns related to public issues, and support the team with various tasks. The ideal candidate should have prior customer service experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. This position offers a 6-month contract based in Hereford with core hours from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Customer Service Call Handler

Location: Rotherwas, Hereford (5 days on site)

Contract: 6-month temporary contract - ending 31st May

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Randstad Sourceright are recruiting on behalf of Balfour Beatty, a leading infrastructure and services business, for a Customer Service Call Handler to join their Public Realm contract team in Hereford.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle inbound calls from members of the public and internal stakeholders.
  • Log and triage reports related to highways and public realm issues, such as flooding, potholes, graffiti, street lighting, and environmental concerns.
  • Liaise with operational teams, inspectors, and project managers to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Provide clear, timely updates and maintain a professional and helpful approach.
  • Support the wider customer service team with varied day-to-day queries and admin tasks.
Candidate Profile
  • Previous experience in a customer service or call handling role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to remain calm and professional under pressure and when dealing with difficult or frustrated callers.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to record information accurately.
  • Confident using computer systems and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
