Job description

The Branch Network prides itself with being the brand representative on the high street. Our 6 branches are advocates for providing a superior customer experience and to support our customers to achieve their savings goals. As Customer Service Assistant, you will have the opportunity to deliver a consistently high standard of customer service whilst completing various banking transactions as requested in our branch network. This is a rare opportunity for somebody who is confident in working various locations across the Branch Network. Not only will you be able to share your skills and knowledge with the different teams, you will also be able to build strong working relationships across different locations. Flexibility is also key to the role, as due to business needs there may be a requirement for you to change your work location at short notice. Your base branch will be Hempstead Branch, so this is where you work when you are not required to support another branch. Your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities
  • Building rapport face to face with our customers in a busy branch environment
  • Accurately processing transactions and amendments on various types of savings accounts, such as:
    • Deposits and withdrawals
    • Faster payments/CHAPS
    • Amending account/customer details
    • Registering bereavements/Power of attorneys
  • Handling large sums of cash
  • Opening new savings accounts
  • Carrying out the daily banking within the branch
  • Overseeing G4S collections and deliveries
  • Identifying and supporting our vulnerable customers
  • Supporting customers wishing to provide feedback or raise a complaint

The hours of work will be 35 hours per week to be worked between Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, plus a minimum of 2 Saturdays per month from 9am - 12.30pm. Time back in lieu will be given for Saturdays worked. This role involves interacting and supporting a varied cohort of customers and using your skills and knowledge to problem solve.
