Purpose Of The Role

To provide a high-quality, front-line customer service to tenants, residents and other stakeholders within a social housing environment. The role involves responding to queries, processing service requests, handling complaints, maintaining accurate records and supporting the delivery of effective housing services.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for all customer enquiries via telephone, email, web chat or in person.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to queries related to housing services, repairs, rent accounts, tenancy issues and general enquiries.
  • Log repairs and service requests, liaising with contractors and internal teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions on relevant housing management systems.
  • Support tenants with information on housing policies, rent payments, service charges and tenancy obligations.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the appropriate teams or officers as necessary.
  • Process applications for housing, mutual exchanges and other tenancy-related matters.
  • Assist with customer feedback and complaints procedures in line with organisational policies.
  • Contribute to service improvement by identifying recurring issues and suggesting solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments, contractors and partner organisations to deliver excellent customer service.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a customer service or administrative role.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and housing management systems.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
