Are you passionate about helping others and providing exceptional customer service? Would you like to join an organisation that puts its customers at the heart of what they do? If so, then Skipton Building Society has the perfect opportunity for you! We are recruiting for a Customer Relationship Consultant within our Ripon Branch.

The role includes engaging in conversations to find out our customers’ needs, providing information about our full savings range, products, and services. You will also conduct ‘My Review’ appointments—an excellent opportunity to understand and discuss our customers' financial goals in a friendly manner. By listening and getting to know our customers, you will help review their circumstances and goals—whether financial, family, retirement, or home-related—and proactively identify suitable products.

Our branches are the heart of our communities, but many customers now prefer online and contact centre interactions. In branch, we support face-to-face, virtual, and outbound contact, reaching customers at relevant times. Your role will be to promote products, resolve issues, and always prioritize customer needs, delivering first-class service.

For our customers, you will be more than just the friendly face and voice of Skipton Building Society. You will listen, solve problems, and become a trusted source to help them achieve their financial goals. Together, you can help us build a better Society!

Who Are We?

We are the fourth-largest building society in the UK, a mutual organisation owned by our members, not shareholders. We value diversity and aim to help more people own homes, save for their future, and maintain long-term financial wellbeing.

  • Being the first point of contact in branch with enthusiasm and a helpful attitude.
  • Conducting ‘My Review’ appointments face-to-face, virtually, or by phone.
  • Proactively reaching out to customers via phone to discuss needs.
  • Educating customers on products and communication channels.
  • Using internal systems to maintain accurate customer records and support vulnerable customers appropriately.
  • Adhering to policies, standards, and controls, supported by training and coaching.
What Do We Need From You?
  • Previous experience interacting with customers, in person or over the phone.
  • Experience in retail, hospitality, healthcare, or similar sectors is welcome.
  • Ability to meet new people and engage in purposeful conversations.
  • Strong teamwork, adaptability, and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to influence audiences.
  • Open-mindedness to a variety of activities beyond standard expectations.
What Is In It For You?
  • Permanent role, 36 hours/week, Monday to Saturday.
  • Salary up to £27,500 per year, depending on experience.
