Job description

Our Aurizon Bulk West division is a growing logistics business that includes rail operations, ports and terminals, containerised freight, and trucking.

As a Customer Logistics Coordinator, you’ll join a dedicated team of coordinators responsible for ensuring the efficient utilisation and scheduling of our locomotive fleet. Working closely with internal operations and maintenance teams, you’ll manage the allocation of locomotives to services and support the coordination of maintenance and delivery schedules to optimise fleet performance and service reliability.

About the role
  • Work collaboratively with a team of coordinators to manage the daily and weekly allocation of locomotives across services.
  • Coordinate with internal maintenance teams to schedule locomotive servicing, delivery, and return to operation.
  • Monitor locomotive availability and performance, ensuring allocations align with operational priorities.
  • Support service delivery by maintaining clear communication between operational, planning, and maintenance teams.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve fleet utilisation and reduce downtime.
  • Assist with reporting and data analysis to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to team initiatives that enhance service performance and operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships, actively creating opportunity to improve performance through regular formal and informal communication channels.
About you
  • Experience in customer facing logistics and operational scheduling that maximise the use of assets and resources.
  • IT skills, particularly in Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • Communicates effectively – Develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Customer focus – Build strong relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Collaborates – Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Decision-quality - Make good and timely decisions that keep the organisation moving forward.
  • Optimise work processes – Have the ability to identify areas for improvement and assist in developing process improvement solutions.
