Unite Group’s Hello Student brand in St Andrews is hiring a Student Experience Team Member. You’ll welcome students at reception, resolve issues quickly, and help organise vibrant community events to create a safe, inclusive home away from home.

Join a values-led team, deliver excellent service, support wellbeing, and contribute to an engaging on-site student experience across shifts on a 37.5-hour week.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate excellent customer service to create welcoming experiences for students.
• Background in hospitality or retail helps, but mindset matters most.
• Strong time-management and organisational skills for multiple tasks.
• Ability to connect with people and keep a safe, friendly environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-of-house reception and build rapport with students.
• Respond promptly to student feedback and guide to the right support.
• Support sales through viewings, inquiries, and events attendance.
• Help deliver community-building events with Resident Ambassadors.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment students are proud to call home.
• Coordinate with day and night teams for seamless service and handovers.
• Support wellbeing/welfare matters and act when something isn’t right.
• Act as a brand ambassador reflecting CARE: Connect, Act, Respect, Encourage.

Student Experience Team Member

Working Hours

37.5 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 between the hours of 7am and 10pm. Weekends will be required on a rota basis.

As a Student Experience Team Member, you’ll play a key part in delivering a warm, safe, and inclusive environment where students feel supported and valued. You’ll work closely with your Student Experience Team Leader, peers, housekeeping, facilities, and Resident Ambassadors to create positive everyday experiences—from welcoming students at reception to resolving issues quickly, leading flat viewings, and helping organise vibrant community events. Every day you’ll make a real impact, connecting with students, driving bookings, and helping build a place they’re proud to call home.

Responsibilities

• Providing a friendly front of house reception and building strong rapport with students.
• Responding quickly to student feedback and guiding them to the right support when needed.
• Supporting sales efforts through viewings, answering enquiries, and attending university and housing events.
• Helping to deliver community‑building events with Resident Ambassadors.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and well‑kept environment that students can be proud to call home.
• Working closely with day and night teams to ensure seamless service and handovers.
• Supporting wellbeing or welfare matters, noticing when something isn’t right and taking action to help.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will

• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, ideally with a background in hospitality or retail, to create positive and welcoming experiences for students.
• Be warm, caring, and approachable, confident in communicating and answering student inquiries efficiently.
• Possess strong time‑management and organisational skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
• Take pride in doing what’s right and supporting others.
• Preferably have experience in a customer service role or residential environment – though this isn’t essential. What matters most is your ability to connect with people and create a safe, welcoming atmosphere.
• Take ownership of problems and act quickly to resolve issues, ensuring student satisfaction and safety.
