Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is recruiting an Installation Specialist to bring our home installation service to customers’ doors from a Customer Delivery Hub. You and a partner will load deliveries, install products such as furniture and white goods, and demonstrate usage at the customers’ homes.

You’ll drive a 7.5-tonne vehicle as part of a two-person crew, with a 41-hour week across a 5-week rota (Mon–Fri 10:30–21:30, Sat 07:00–18:00). Must be 18+, with DBS checks possible during recruitment.

• Installation experience essential; installer accreditation provided.

About the role

As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the unique opportunity of bringing our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers' doors and install the products they love into their homes (such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems and TV sets) as part of a 2-person delivery crew, driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.

Due to its nature, you need to be 18 years or older to work in this role.

41 Hours per week, working across 4 days on a 5-week rota: Monday to Friday 10:30 to 21:30

Saturday 07:00 to 18:00

Key Responsibilities

• -Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service is your number one priority.
• -Load up your lorry with the day's deliveries working alongside the warehouse team.
• -Showing great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handling unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
• -Installing products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrating how they work once installed.

Please note this role involves heavy lifting: You will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.

Essential skills/experience you'll need

Previous experience of installation is required for this role and we'll assist in topping up your knowledge with our very own installer accreditation. Other required skills and experience include:

• -Manual C1 UK driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points)
• -DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or Driver Qualification Card by the first day in the role.
• -Tachograph Card.
• -Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• -Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
• -Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and in person.
• -Good understanding of technology.

Desirable skills/experience you can bring

• -Installation and disconnection of white goods.
• -TV installation.
• -Assembly of a flat pack.

Full time vacancy (41 hours per week) across 4 days on a 5 week rota. To work between the hours of 10:30 - 21:30 Monday - Friday, and between 07:00 - 18:00 on Saturdays
