Overview

As one of our Installation Specialists based in a Customer Delivery Hub, you will bring our distinctive John Lewis service right to customers' doors, installing products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems and TV sets. You will operate as part of a 2‑person delivery crew in a 7.5‑tonne vehicle. Pay includes an Evening Premium of £3.00 per hour (18:00–22:00) and a Night Premium of £4.00 per hour (22:00–06:00). Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

• An ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service is your number one priority.
• Load up your lorry with deliveries, working alongside the warehouse team.
• Show respect and courtesy for the customer's home, handling unexpected situations with the best possible solutions.
• Install products efficiently and quickly, demonstrating how they work once installed.
• Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform your role at your best.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Note: This role involves heavy lifting of large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds and mattresses.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous installation experience (we provide installer accreditation).
• Manual C1 UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 points.
• DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or Driver Qualification Card by the first day.
• Tachograph Card.
• Experience driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
• Experience in a customer‑facing role.
• Great verbal communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
• Good understanding of technology.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Installation and disconnection of white goods.
• TV installation.
• Flavour assembly of flat packs.
