Job summary

Tesco is recruiting Customer Delivery Drivers to bring groceries to customers’ homes across the United Kingdom. The role is hands-on, physical and varied, with independent work and support from managers back at base when needed.

Pay starts at £14.18 per hour, rising to £15.45 in M25 stores. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, with some locations offering additional hours. Flexible working is available from day one to fit your life.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends.
• Excellent customer service and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Keep van, trays and work area clean, tidy and organised to ensure orders are delivered in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely and complete checks to ensure roadworthiness and reliability.
• Explain order changes or substitutions to customers and process refunds when needed to keep the experience smooth.
• Handle products with care and treat each order as if it were your own to maintain quality.
• Deliver within the customer’s time slot with warm, natural service at the doorstep.

You will be responsible for

• Keeping your van, trays, and work area clean, tidy, and organised so every customer receives their shopping in perfect condition.
• Loading the van safely and completing all checks to ensure it’s roadworthy, reliable, and ready to deliver great service.
• Talking customers through any order changes, substitutions, or short‑dated items in a friendly, reassuring way, and offering refunds where needed to keep the experience smooth and positive.
• Handling products with care, treating every order as if it were your own to maintain quality and customer trust.
• Delivering within the customer’s time slot, providing warm, natural service at the doorstep and leaving customers feeling valued and well looked after.

You will need

• Build strong relationships with colleagues to create great team spirit and deliver the best service for customers.
• Be warm and welcoming with customers and colleagues.
• Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change while out on the road and in the store.
• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
