Job description
Diversity Statement

Ferrero is committed to building a diverse and inclusive culture in which all employees feel welcomed and appreciated and have the same opportunities. We believe all of our people are equally talented in their own way. In nurturing the curiosity and natural abilities of our employees, we provide them, generation after generation, the means to succeed personally and professionally, enabling them to craft their journey at Ferrero. The diversity of our talents is what makes our work environment multicultural, innovative and highly rewarding.

About the Role:

As Customer Category Manager for Tesco, you’ll act as a key partner to Tesco, Booker, and One Stop, using category insight to support joint business growth. Working closely with Trade Marketing and Sales, you’ll deliver objective, data-led recommendations to drive distribution, share of shelf, and range optimisation.

You’ll support range reviews, influence NPD plans, and help shape Ferrero’s in-store execution through clear merchandising principles. This role is central to building strong, insight-driven customer relationships and delivering our long-term category vision.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Drive category growth for Tesco, Booker, and One Stop by turning insights into strategic action and ensuring alignment with customer and category objectives.
  • Own category performance analysis by monitoring market, shopper, and consumer trends to identify growth opportunities.
  • Deliver regular period reporting, manage data changes, and communicate insights with impactful “so-what” analysis.
  • Partner with key insight agencies, including loyalty data providers, to generate meaningful shopper and category intelligence that informs decision-making across the business.
  • Lead and support Tesco range reviews by identifying distribution opportunities, managing event analysis, and positioning Ferrero for future category changes.
  • Own the development and execution of sell-in stories for innovation and range extensions—bringing them to life with compelling commercial rationale tailored to customer priorities.
  • Build strong, independent relationships with customer category teams and drive cross-functional collaboration to align priorities, plans, and opportunities.
  • Support in-store and at-shelf presence and contribute to delivering Ferrero’s long-term category vision.
Who we are looking for:
  • Proven experience in Category Management within the FMCG sector, ideally with retailer-facing projects—particularly with Tesco or similar key accounts.
  • Strong understanding of category dynamics, market trends, and consumer behaviour; ability to translate insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Experience using tools such as Nielsen, Kantar, Circana, or loyalty platforms like dunnhumby to gather and analyse market and shopper data.
  • Proficiency in turning insights into sell-in stories and actionable recommendations; experience in FMCG in-store activation, shelf presence, or range reviews is valued.
  • Proficiency in Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite to work with data and influence decisions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a commercial mindset and proactive problem-solving ability to influence decisions through insight and storytelling.
  • Working knowledge of market, shopper, and consumer insight providers, including loyalty data platforms and shopper behaviour tools, is advantageous.
How to be successful in the role and at Ferrero:

Consumers, quality and care are at the heart of everything we do. To be successful at Ferrero, you’ll need to be consumer- and product-centric, dedicated to delivering brilliant results for consumers around the world.

We encourage all our people to think creatively, set personal targets, and push for new, better ways to work. Employee contribution and engagement at Ferrero builds on three dimensions: individual, team and organisation. You should be able to work independently, be proactive and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to achieve team goals.
