Job summary

Sainsbury’s Group is seeking a dedicated Night Shift Customer Assistant to support the store through the night. You’ll stock, tidy, and prepare shelves, ensuring the store opens smoothly for customers each morning.

Role requires resilience for night hours, attention to detail and teamwork. You’ll use handset devices and digital systems, with a night premium and access to store discounts and wellbeing benefits.

• Willingness to work across the store and adapt to night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Get the store ready for the day by stocking shelves and maintaining a steady night-time pace.
• Keep workspaces tidy and aisles clear for customers the next day.
• Move stock from warehouse to shopfloor safely, including heavy items.
• Assist in other store areas as needed and be trained for checkout duties.

What you'll be doing

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a good steady pace throughout the night and being prepared to work with a variety of product types
• Keeping your workspace tidy for other colleagues and making sure our aisles are clean, presentable and ready for our customers the next day
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete your work accurately and safely
• Helping in other areas when needed, which could include picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once you're trained and confident, Nightshift premium - in addition to the advertised hourly rate, a further £2.45 nightshift premium is paid for every hour worked between midnight - 5am (where applicable).
