Job summary

Sainsbury’s Group is hiring for night shift roles to stock shelves, replenish products and ensure the store is ready for customers the next day. The role involves moving stock from warehouse to shopfloor, navigating chilled and frozen areas, and using digital systems with a focus on accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves and working at a steady pace overnight.
• Keeping your workspace tidy for colleagues and ensuring aisles are clean and presentable for customers.
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including handling heavy equipment and containers.
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas.
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete tasks accurately and safely.
• Willingness to learn, develop and support colleagues, with a positive, customer-focused attitude.

Job description

• Getting the store ready for the day ahead by filling shelves, working at a good steady pace throughout the night and being prepared to work with a variety of product types
• Keeping your workspace tidy for other colleagues and making sure our aisles are clean, presentable and ready for our customers the next day
• Collecting and moving stock safely from the warehouse to the shopfloor, including heavy equipment and containers
• Working across different parts of the store, which could include chilled and frozen areas
• Using equipment, handsets and digital systems to complete your work accurately and safely
• Helping in other areas when needed, which could include picking online orders or serving customers at checkouts once you're trained and confident
  Friendly and welcoming, with a genuine enthusiasm for delivering for customers
• Working nights takes energy, resilience and a hands-on approach, so you will be ready to work in a physically demanding role and able to adapt to the disruption that working over-night can have on well-being and sleep
• Committed team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is always willing to support colleagues and work together
• Flexibly and willingness to work across the store and take on new challenges
• Open to learning, developing and trying new things to improve our service
• Confident learning to use new digital tools and technology to do your job brilliantly

  Nightshift premium - in addition to the advertised hourly rate, a further £2.45 nightshift premium is paid for every hour worked between midnight - 5am (where applicable).
