Job summary

B&Q Grimsby is seeking a Customer Advisor for a fixed-term contract working 30 hours per week. Shifts run Monday to Sunday, 7.00am–10.00pm at the Grimsby store, where you’ll help customers with home improvement projects and ensure the store presents well.

You’ll be involved in sales, stock management, displays, and may receive training in paint-mixing and timber cutting. We value dependable, team-focused colleagues who enjoy helping others and are flexible for weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused and friendly, eager to learn and assist customers
• Team player with flexible, weekend/Evening bank holiday availability
• Willingness to learn new technology and store procedures

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and advice to shoppers.
• Assist with stock, set up displays and keep the store tidy and inviting.

What’s the job?

Join our team, and you’ll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You’ll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you’ll be right at home with us. You’re friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You’re great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
