Job description

Paramedic – 2 years post qualification.

This role requires a minimum of two years post‑qualification experience in a patient‑facing role within a relevant field, including General Practice, A&E, Emergency Medicine, acute medicine, Walk‑in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare or Ambulance Service. No previous forensic experience is required; all necessary training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assess whether people are fit to be detained or released.
• Administer medications when needed.
• Work with local Liaison and Diversion teams to address root‑cause issues that prevent future crime.
• Record all activity accurately in the computerised system.
• Collect forensic samples for police investigations when required.
• Provide holistic physical, mental health and wellbeing support to detained individuals.

Compensation

Rates (umbrella sites, South Wales):
• Weekdays – £27.60 per hour
• Night rate – £32.71 per hour
• Weekends – £32.71 per hour
• Bank Holiday – £35.78 per hour

Work Hours

Shifts are 12.15 hours long, covering a 24‑hour rota with the following times:

• 6:45 am – 7:00 pm
• 6:45 pm – 7:00 am
