Job summary

Mitie Group plc in the United Kingdom seeks a certified nurse or paramedic to provide essential healthcare within Police Custody Suites. The role delivers high-quality clinical care to detainees and supports around-the-clock medical coverage through a close partnership with the Police and our client.

Qualifications

• 2 years post-qualification in a patient-facing clinical setting.
• NMC/HCPC registered or eligible and practicing in the UK.
• UK RTW with British passport or ILR and no long gaps in residence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver healthcare in custody suites for detainees.
• Provide 24/7 healthcare coverage in line with contract with Police and client.
• Work across base custody suite and assigned Police Custody Suites region.
• Participate in a fixed shift pattern and a rolling rota up to 2 years in advance.

Applicants must have a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience in a patient-facing role within a relevant clinical setting. Suitable environments include Accident & Emergency (A&E), General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Prison Healthcare, or the Ambulance Service. This experience should demonstrate your ability to deliver high-quality care, work under pressure, and manage diverse clinical situations effectively.

You must have a Driving license

In collaboration with the Police, you'll serve in custody suites, delivering healthcare to detainees. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety of detainees with round-the-clock coverage in the custody suites, in line with a schedule agreed upon with our client.

The role requires the flexibility to work not only in your base Custody suite but across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area

• Salary £20,750 per year
• £500 bonus when completed 12 months service.
• Part time - this entails fixed shift working: 06:45 to 19:00 for day shifts and night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, working in a team rota pattern of 2-day shifts on, 8 days off, 2 nights, 4 days off.
• Rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
• These patterns are contractually agreed with the customer: whereas there may be opportunities for a part-time or mutually agreed “Bank” contract, we require all employees to work full shifts, and part-time employees still need to carry out some Night shifts.

• Average estimated overtime £3500 per annum

• NMC/HCPC Registration paid

Requirements:

• RN, RGN or (RMN with dual registration):2 years post qualification - Band 5 minimum

• Paramedic 2 years post qualification.

• Must have RTW, Lived in UK British Passport or ILR for 3 years + no gaps out of country more than 3 months

• All candidates will be subject to Police Vetting
