Job summary

Kirklees Museums and Galleries seeks a senior cultural professional to lead a multidisciplinary curatorial team across multiple sites and shape the future of the newly developing Huddersfield Museum and Art Gallery. You will guide collections care, documentation, and digitisation while delivering sector-leading, inclusive experiences.

The role requires strategic leadership as part of Our Cultural Heart, and collaboration with communities, partners, and national bodies to realise ambitious

Qualifications

• Experience leading museum, gallery or heritage teams through periods of change.
• Extensive management in collections care, curatorial and exhibition practice, with documentation standards and digitisation.
• Strong project management, budgeting and resource planning capabilities.
• Proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders, communities, partners and funders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the curatorial work to document, prepare and transfer collections and ensure safe movement and installation.
• Inspire and manage a multidisciplinary team across multiple sites, ensuring high standards of care and interpretation.
• Develop inclusive, accessible museum experiences and expand digital access and online presence.
