A local government authority in Leicester is seeking a Brokerage Officer to join their team, responsible for brokering health and social care services. This full-time position offers hybrid working flexibility and involves carrying out administrative tasks, supporting vulnerable individuals, and ensuring excellent customer service. Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed term for 12 Months
Brokerage team is responsible for brokering commissioned services for Leicester city council. Brokering Health and Social Care services primarily residential and domiciliary care but including taxi provision. We are a seven day a week service.
You’ll be joining a small task focused team of that consists of 6 Brokerage Officers, who source residential care and 3 CSB Assistants who source domiciliary care. Focusing on often time sensitive admin tasks you’ll assist directly in the commissioning of care for vulnerable persons at home, supporting colleagues in the Integrated Crisis Response Service, Reablement and Hospital Discharge teams as well as the authorities social work teams.
As key workers your work will help with the smooth discharging of people from our overstressed hospitals in a person centred and strength-based way. Hospitals rely on Local Authorities such as ours to give them crucial assistance in keeping beds available for those in need.
This is a full time, fixed term position working 37 hours Monday to Friday (for 12 months). You’ll have flexibility in hybrid working being both office based, at Halford House or working remotely from home to suit your needs. The team are currently working at least 2 days in office with a mandatory team day on Monday but are flexible on the days that suit them for other office day.
As the first point of contact for all enquiries, customer requests and information requests to the team, resolving routine matters raised. You’ll ensure the service runs smoothly by answering the telephone, responding to emails; resolving enquires in an efficient way. You’ll be responsible for communicating with both our partner providers and the families of persons in need of care as part of the wider commissioning process. Maintaining accurate electronic filing systems and case notes to ensure all records are up-to-date and remain confidential. You will work as part of a team and with other teams to arrange care for persons in need of it across the city.
You’ll have some experience of carrying out administration tasks, supporting meetings as well as have a good understanding of the importance of customer care. Using good verbal and written communication skills, you’ll provide excellent customer service when resolving and responding to a variety of enquiries. With strong organisational skills, you’ll be able to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment; ensuring telephone enquiries are answered in an efficient manner. You’ll have proficient IT skills to carry out general administrative tasks, maintain records and databases and produce simple reports to aid service delivery. Working with speed, accuracy, and high attention to detail, to deliver a high-quality frontline service.
