Job summary

A leading maritime services firm is seeking an experienced Motorman/Fitter for a cruise vessel. The successful candidate will assist with daily operations and maintenance of machinery, ensuring safety duties are met. Applicants must have STCW certification, welding skills, and excellent English communication abilities. This is a contract position for a duration of 9 months, requiring physical fitness and integrity.

Qualifications

• Must be physically and medically fit.
• Experience on vessels in an equivalent position is required.
• Moral integrity is mandatory.
• Well-groomed appearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with execution of routine checks of machinery.
• Stands engine watch as instructed by the Staff Engineer.
• Continuously supervises and inspects machinery spaces.
• Assists with maintenance and repair of Diesel Generators.
• Responsible for keeping the engine room clean.

Skills

Good knowledge and operation of Lathe machine

Good welding skills

Mechanics operation and maintenance knowledge

Excellent verbal and written English

Ability to handle multiple demands

Safe, professional practices

Ability to work in confined spaces

Education

Valid STCW 95 certification

Valid ASE A-III/5
