Job summary

Expleo is seeking a Critical Transport Lead UK to be based on site at Stevenage (Portsmouth can be offered as an alternate office) for coordinating satellite transports and main sub-assemblies. This contract role is inside IR35 and the rate is negotiable based on experience and seniority.

Responsibilities include coordinating critical transports, waivers for dangerous goods, and ensuring on-time, on-cost deliveries across sites. UK MoD security clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to achieve UK MoD security clearance.
• Experience in manufacturing scheduling.
• Experience in maritime, automotive, aerospace sectors.
• Project management qualification or certification required.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, specification and coordination of critical transports with satellite project teams and transport suppliers.
• Generic management of waivers for dangerous goods transport and coordination with Airbus/D&S production sites.
• On-time, on-cost transport deliveries as required by production and satellites’ launches.

As part of our continued support to our customer in the space sector, we are currently looking for a Critical Transport Lead UK to be based on site at our customer's facility in Stevenage, though Portsmouth can be offered as an alternate office. This is a contract role deemed to be inside IR35, the rate is negotiable based on experience, seniority etc.

Responsibilities

• Under the leadership of the Head of the Industrial Planning, Performances & Control department (TSMUP), you will be in charge of:
  • Preparation, specification and coordination of critical transports (shipment of satellites to launch site or test site, and of main sub-assemblies between Airbus sites) in close cooperation with satellite's project teams, Transport teams and relevant transport suppliers,-
  • Generic management of waivers for transport of dangerous goods, compliance to known consignor processes for air transports and transnational coordination with other Airbus D&S production sites.
  • On-time, on-quality and on-cost critical transport deliveries as they are essentials for production performance and for satellites' launch as per customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Project Management qualification or certification.

Essential Skills

'Industrial' / 'Delivery' / 'Planning' / 'Project Manager' skillsets will meet the requirements. You must be capable of proactively coordinating people and information flow to enable streamlined transport from an AIT perspective.

• Must show knowledge of good logical planning characteristics and have an understanding of Gantt charts and their application.
• Able to work in high pressure environments.
• Able to prioritise workload effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills, confident to communicate and able to assert influence in multi-functional environment.
• They will need to be flexible, adaptable, able to apply a logical approach to problems and have an eye for detail.

Experience

• Experience in Manufacturing scheduling.
• Experience in maritime, automotive, aerospace sectors.
