Job description

Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression.

Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for a Critical Electrical Shift Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.

We are looking for a Critical Electrical Shift Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

Responsibilities
  • Provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.
  • Monitor & control the operation of essential systems such as cooling, power, and other critical infrastructure.
  • Perform emergency repairs.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment health, and analyse facility data to identify trends and optimise performance.
  • Develop and maintain clear operational procedures.
  • Accurately log activities, and utilise Work Notification systems.
  • Support planned preventative maintenance activities, assist specialist sub-contractors, and ensure smooth handovers between shifts.
  • Communicate effectively, demonstrate technical expertise, and work under pressure.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year working in data centres or critical environments.
  • Proficiency in fault diagnostics, BMS/PMS systems, and building services trades (UPS, Diesel Generators, HVAC, etc.).
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical and electrical engineering, such as City & Guilds and 18th Edition Institute of Electrical Engineers registration.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, work under pressure, and adjust rapidly to changing work demands or business needs.
