A prominent healthcare trust in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Critical Care Support staff member. This part-time role involves assisting nursing staff and contributing to housekeeping duties. Ideal candidates should have NVQ Level 2 in a related subject or equivalent experience. The position offers a supportive work environment with opportunities for a flexible working arrangement.

Our Cardiothoracic PICU is a Supra-Regional Unit, caring for children and families from all over the UK, Ireland and Europe with an age range of 0‑18 years.
We take routine and emergency admissions for cardiac surgery, bridging to transplant (ventricular assist devices), heart/lung transplant and a type of advanced heart and lung life support known as ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation). We are one of only two centres in the United Kingdom who can carry out heart/lung transplantation in children.

Post holder will be expected to contribute to housekeeping and other ward/department duties as required, e.g. general tidiness, maintenance of stock levels and ensuring clinical equipment is clean, working and stored correctly.
This role incorporates equipment maintenance, monitoring and ordering of department stock items, assisting registered nurses with the provision of patient care, assistance in administration and clerical duties.
We can offer an excellent structured preceptorship supported by supernumerary period. Friendly and supportive workplace.
