Job summary

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated Band 8a Critical Care Pharmacist to join our specialist pharmacy team in Kettering. You will provide expert pharmaceutical care to critically ill patients, collaborate with the ICU MDT, and help develop high-quality critical care services.

You will deliver and develop specialist services, participate in rounds, and drive medication safety and continuity of care across admission and discharge.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
• GPHC registration.
• Postgraduate qualification in hospital Pharmacy or equivalent (3+ years).
• Registered Independent prescriber.
• Member of Intensive Care Society.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and develop specialist clinical pharmaceutical services to Critical Care.
• Participate in consultant and MDT ward rounds with regular prescription reviews.
• Ensure seamless pharmaceutical care on admission and discharge from Critical Care; perform medicine reconciliation.
• Provide handover to pharmacist colleagues for patients moving from Critical Care.
• Liaise with primary care and other hospitals to access complete drug history and avoid delays.
• Collaborate with the Critical care practice development team to educate the MDT on pharmaceutical matters.
• Prescribe medicines per the non-medical prescribing scope and Trust standards.
• Attend Critical Care MDT meetings to discuss inpatient pharmaceutical care.
