Southend Outreach Service – Critical Care Outreach

The Southend Outreach service is looking for a motivated conscientious individual to join them.

The Outreach team at Southend is part of the Critical Care Department and works closely with the Critical Care Staff. They are integral in reviewing patients who are deteriorating on the wards to ensure that they receive timely and appropriate treatment as well as supporting Critical Care patients following discharge from the Intensive Care Unit. The ability to carry out a comprehensive patient assessment and recognise areas of concern is essential.

The ability to communicate clearly is a necessary skill as not only will the individual be involved in emergency situations but an important part of the role is to educate and support ward staff.

The individual will be an important part of the Critical Care staff and as such will work clinically in this area.

You will be required to provide excellent assessment and observation skills of critically ill patients in a variety of clinical settings. A good professional leadership quality is imperative to ensure the care of the critically ill patient is optimised.
