Job summary

EMED Group's STRS transport team seeks an Ambulance Technician (ECA) to join the London-based retrieval service. You will work within a mobile intensive-care environment, supporting urgent journeys for critically ill children and their families, alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team.

The role requires FREC4, CERAD/Blue Light driving, and a C1 licence, with two years’ blue-light driving experience. Expect 42-hour weeks with 12-hour shifts, across days and nights.

Qualifications

• FREC4 and CERAD blue light qualifications are essential.
• C1 driving licence and enhanced DBS clearance are required.
• Two years’ blue-light emergency driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in retrieval and safe transfer of critically ill children.
• Drive under emergency-response conditions when authorised.
• Prepare and check ambulance and clinical equipment.
• Support patient preparation, securing and loading with clinical team guidance.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in continuous service improvement.
