A community support organization in Oneonta, NY, seeks a Crisis Shelter Associate to aid survivors of domestic violence. In this role, you will provide crisis counseling and maintain a safe shelter environment while overseeing activities and supporting victims as they transition to a life free from abuse. Various full-time and part-time shifts are available with additional shift pay. Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and relevant experience in human services.

Help break the cycle of violence and assist survivors in rebuilding their lives by becoming part of the Violence Intervention Program team. Though our emergency shelter, you will offer compassion and hope to adult and child victims of domestic violence as they transition to a life free from abuse.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED/HSED; one year of relevant experience in domestic violence, counseling, or human services; New York State Department of Health Rape Crisis Certification within six months of employment; valid, unrestricted New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.
