  • Support First Night Centre provision and deliver brief interventions.

Criminal Justice Worker

Location: Coventry

Salary: £20-22 per hour Umbrella

Contract: 3 months

Are you driven to make a real impact on people's lives and community safety? We're looking for a committed Criminal Justice Worker in Coventry to support individuals in the justice system to reduce substance-related harm, improve well-being, and help break the cycle of re-offending. Working across both community and custody settings, you'll play a vital role in ensuring people get the right support at the right time, whether in court, probation, prison, or back in the community.

What a Criminal Justice Worker will do:
  • Work closely with Probation and Rehabilitation partners to support people on court-ordered treatment requirements (DRR/ATR/ASAR).
  • Develop and deliver group interventions that promote recovery and reduce drug-related offending.
  • Provide seamless support between police custody, courts, prisons and the community.
  • Carry out assertive outreach, home visits and appointment support to maximise engagement.
  • Prepare Court Reports and contribute to risk assessments and recovery planning.
  • In custody settings, support First Night Centre provision, deliver brief interventions, and link individuals into prison substance use programmes.
  • Provide group work and recovery planning within rehabilitation frameworks to help individuals progress safely and positively.
What You'll Bring as a Criminal Justice Worker
  • Strong understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience within the criminal justice or related field.
  • Experience supporting people with complex needs or multiple barriers.
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and effective interventions that reduce substance-related crime.
  • Ability to work flexibly within a prison environment (where required).
  • A genuine commitment to helping individuals reduce harm and move forward positively.
