A modern law firm in the East Midlands is seeking a newly qualified Solicitor to join its criminal defence team. You will have the opportunity to manage your own caseload while gaining invaluable experience in criminal matters. The role offers a competitive salary, pension scheme, and generous leave. Within this role you will have the opportunity to gain broad exposure to a wide range of criminal matters, from initial police station attendances through to representation at the Magistrates’ Court, providing invaluable experience and professional development. You will be working closely with senior Fee Earners and Advocates and you will manage your own caseload under supervision, ensuring clients receive clear, practical and effective advice at every stage of their case.
The ideal candidate is a newly qualified Solicitor who is eager to progress a career within criminal defence. You will be tenacious, well‑organised and motivated, with the confidence to handle responsibility and the drive to progress within the firm. You will also play an active role in supporting the continued growth and success of the department through excellent client care and proactive case management. Police station accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential.
