Job summary

McCormack Legal Recruitment is seeking an experienced Criminal Advocate / Duty Solicitor to join a busy criminal defence team in Liverpool. This full-time role also welcomes part-time applicants who can demonstrate capability and commitment.

You will represent clients detained at police stations, handle a varied caseload across criminal offences and advocate in Magistrates’ Court, including summary trials, delivering robust, professional defence.

Qualifications

• Solicitor with 1+ year PQE in criminal matters.
• Criminal Litigation Accreditation preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision.
• Passion for publicly funded criminal defence work.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong team‑working skills.
