We are seeking a Crematoria Team Leader to enhance the quality and effectiveness of our Council’s Street Scene & Bereavement Services.
What will be expected from me?
To work closely with the Bereavement Manager to deliver a thriving, ambitious service which understands its customers, has anticipated change and can provide a range of services to meet the needs of its customers whilst generating income for the Council to support public service.
What I might be doing?
- Officiate at the final cremation of the deceased, carry out identification checks and ensure strict adherence to current legislation and guidance.
- Participate in the frequent review of all systems and procedures in operation.
- Ensure that all aspects of work within the sphere of control of this post are carried out in accordance with the Council's Customer Care and Equal Opportunities policies.
- Adhere to and apply legislation, Council standing orders and procedures as appropriate.
- Ensure that Health and Safety responsibilities are complied with for all employees within the Service.
- Communicate fully with all staff as appropriate.
- Contribute to the maintenance of good employee relations within the Service.
- Ensure that robust auditable systems and procedures are maintained in relation to cremations and that probity is maintained.
- Ensure that the Councils health and safety policies are fully adhered to within the group by developing and implementing service health and safety policies.
- Work in partnership to achieve the aims of the service and the Council.
Essential requirements:
- Driving License Cat B
- ICCM Certificate
- Proficiency to cremate certificate
- IOSH managing safety or equivalent qualification
- Appropriate training / qualification in customer car
