Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Financials Credit Trader at Associate or Vice President level to join a London-based trading desk of a leading European investment bank. You will trade and provide liquidity in EUR Senior Financials, manage risk and build client relationships across Europe.

The role offers exposure to sales, institutional clients, syndicate and research, with a collaborative trading environment and clear progression opportunities within a reputable European credit platform.

Job description

A leading European investment bank is seeking to hire a Financials Credit Trader at the Associate or Vice President level to join its London-based trading desk. This is an opportunity to become part of a well-established platform with a strong presence across European credit markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for trading and market-making across a range of EUR-denominated Senior Financials bonds, managing risk, developing client relationships, and contributing to the growth of the franchise. The role offers significant exposure to sales teams, institutional clients, syndicate, and research functions across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Trade and manage risk in EUR Senior Financials products.
• Provide liquidity and pricing to institutional clients across the European market.
• Monitor market developments, credit fundamentals, flows, and relative value opportunities.
• Work closely with sales teams to identify and execute client-driven opportunities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key investors and market participants.
• Collaborate with syndicate and origination teams on primary market activity.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at expanding the desk's market presence and profitability.

Requirements

• Experience within a credit trading, market-making, or risk-taking environment.
• Strong knowledge of European Financial Institutions Group (FIG) credit markets, particularly EUR Senior Financials. Other Fins Trading experience can be considered.
• Proven ability to analyse credit risk, market dynamics, and relative value opportunities.
• Strong understanding of fixed income products, market structure, and trading mechanics.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with sales, research, and clients.
