  • Risk Management experience in a Financial Institution.
  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Knowledge of Credit Risk fundamentals and Credit Risk Exposure Metrics.

Department Overview:

The role of Risk Management is to support and influence senior management in the execution of its business strategy of increasing shareholder returns and optimising the firm's return on capital whilst ensuring capital adequacy.

Credit Risk Management (CRM) operates as a credit risk control function within the Risk Management Division, reporting to the CRO. The process for managing credit risk at Nomura includes:

  • Evaluation of likelihood that a counterparty defaults on its payments and obligations;
  • Assignment of internal ratings to all active counterparties;
  • Approval of extensions of credit and establishment of credit limits;
  • Measurement, monitoring and management of Nomura’s current and potential future credit exposures;
  • Setting credit terms in legal documentation, including margin terms; and
  • Use of appropriate credit risk mitigants, including netting, collateral and hedging.
Role description:

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

Seeking a proactive and hard-working and flexible individual with:

  • Professional experience using in Microsoft packages including SQL and Power BI. Additional experience using Python and reporting tools such as SAP Business Objects is preferable;
  • Risk Management experience in a Financial Institution;
  • Undergraduate degree;
  • Knowledge of Credit Risk fundamentals and Credit Risk Exposure Metrics.
